New Delhi/Srinagar: The worst flooding in Jammu and Kashmir in over a century has left the poor and migrant workers the worst hit as they are stranded with no shelter or food. More than 75,000 people were still in partly submerged homes in Srinagar.

Jammu: The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on Tuesday started dispatching petroleum products to flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir following the reopening of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, officials said. "As part of its efforts to restore normalcy in petroleum supplies in the flood-affected areas of Kashmir Division, IOC has loaded and dispatched about 400 kilo-liters (kl) of petrol and 1,000 kl of diesel in tank-trucks from its Srinagar depot ... for distribution in local markets," officials said.

Srinagar: Chief of Indian Air Force Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha on Tuesday visited the flooded-affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir and carried out an aerial survey of these areas. A defence statement issued here on Tuesday said, "The Chairman, Chiefs of staff committee (COSC) and Chief of the air staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha visited the flood-affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir, today and carried out aerial recce of both north and south Kashmir."
