Chennai: Questioning the resignation by an AIADMK MLA, Opposition PMK on Monday said those who "force" by-polls should be barred from contesting elections. PMK founder S Ramadoss cited that P Vetrivel, who had quit as legislator from Radhakrishnan Nagar constituency here on Sunday, had not mentioned the reason for doing so, nevertheless "even the commoners are aware of the fact why he resigned".

Panaji: One person was killed on Friday when a car belonging to BJP MLA Subhash Faldesai hit a motorbike near the airport, 40 kms away from here, police informed. 28-year-old Sunil Rathod was killed on the spot when Faldesai's official car collided with his bike at around 7 AM, they said.
