New Delhi: At a time when India is trying to ramp up its uranium export, its own domestic production of the yellow cake has declined by 10-15 percent after operations in the country's oldest and richest uranium mine in Jaduguda in Jharkhand has been stopped by the state government.

Ranchi: Jharkhand registered an overall 66 percentage turnout for the 81 assembly seats that was held in five phases and spanned over nearly four weeks which concluded with the polling held for 16 seats in the last phase today which recorded around 70.42 percent polling.

Ranchi: Polling in the 16 constituencies of Jharkhand today ended with 70.42 percent of the electorate exercising their franchise in the fifth and final phase of elections to the 81-member state assembly as the day passed-off peacefully.

Ranchi: With Jharkhand set to enter the final phase polling for 16 assembly seats spread across six districts on Saturday, the fate of many heavyweights including Chief Minister Hemant Soren will be decided in this crucial phase. Altogether 208 candidates, including 16 women, are testing their luck in this phase, an Election Commission release said. Polling will begin at 7 AM and end at 3 PM in all the 16 constituencies.
