New Delhi: The mangalsutra in this movie, if you may, is the Hindu equivalent of Hollywood’s holy-cross that usually stands between mere mortals, and the evil spirit. This particular mangalsutra is also doubly blessed, as the mother-in-law puts it. Because, you know, it was taken to the ‘Jai Mata Di Vaishno Devi’ temple for an added layer of protective cover.

New Delhi: If my gossip-reads serve me right, Akira is the name of Farhan Akhtar’s daughter. And she’s most likely named after Akira Kurosawa — the male Japanese master-director. Akira is also Japanese for ‘intelligent’.

This film is basically an attempt at big-screen entertainment aimed purely at kids. This is, as you know, a super-hero movie -- a comical one with an environmental message. And one can, somewhat, sense a franchise developing around the character.

New Delhi: Meera (Tannishtha Chatterjee), a divorcee and single mother of Smitha (Maya Sathi), is an Australian of Indian origin. She is smart and independent, even so, she is under severe family pressure to find a nice Indian match.

New Delhi: There isn’t as much wrong with this film as the fact that you wonder what's good about it. By the end of the film, you will be spectacularly bored by this humourless spectacle. And the question in your head is less likely to be: 'What is going on?' and more likely to be, 'Why is this going on forever?'

Mumbai: YES, we know he recently upset everyone with his I-don't-care-I-am-Salman-and-I-can-say-anything attitude, when he compared his gruelling training sessions for the just-released 'Sultan' to feeling like a "raped woman". But like a senior journalist sitting beside us at the screening said, "He apologised right away. 'I didn't mean it and nobody bothered to quote that,' Salman argued. Salman was saying, quote me, but quote me in full."

Mumbai: Anu Menon's 'Waiting' is a sensitive, unusual story. The movie tracks the behavioural pattern of two individuals belonging to two different generations when their lives comes to a standstill in a hospital waiting room, as their loved ones are locked in a life-and-death struggle. Shiv's (Naseeruddin Shah) wife (played by Suhasini Mani Ratnam) is in a comatose condition since seven months and in spite of doctors having given up on her, he's desperately holding on to the hope that she will lead a normal life one day. In direct contrast is Tara (Kalki Koechlin), a newly married girl, whose husband has suffered brain injury following an accident.

Mumbai: Rarely do you come across a good horror movie in Bollywood, which has most often dished out tacky, sex-driven B-grade drivel in the genre.

Mumbai: Is Ram Gopal Varma back in form with 'Veerappan'? Not really. But you do see glimpses of the lost genius in a few chase scenes and shooting sequences between the police and the criminal and you so wish he did. Also looks like Ramu has gotten out of his painfully sell-indulgent phase and is actually going back to serious story telling. The camera, for starters, doesn't voyeuristically sneak up the skirts or look down the cleavages of the women in the film.
