New Delhi: The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress, which was formed in 1998 as a small regional party, has got the national party status on Friday. The Election Commission has granted the status to the party which is currently the fourth largest party in the Lok Sabha after BJP, Congress and AIADMK.

Those employees who resumed their duty on Friday will get an additional holiday during the Durga Puja festival. The decision was made public by the state government on Friday.
