The smart card issued under Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY) for providing health care cover to people living below poverty line will now be used for the distribution of grains at cheaper prices through public distribution system. Though the scheme turned out to be a flop in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Maharashtra, Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Chhattisgarh is going to implement the scheme.

Raipur: Eleven Naxals 'impressed' by the surrender policy of Chhattisgarh government, surrendered yesterday in Kondagaon district, while citing disappointment with the 'ill-treatment' by senior cadres, police said.

Raipur: As many as 70 Naxals, including 15 women, surrendered in Sukma district in tribal-dominated Bastar region of Chhattisgarh today, police said. According to police, the Naxals who are mostly lower-rung cadres gave up their arms citing disappointment with the ideology of banned Maoist movement and violence.
