The idea was to unite two uneasy neighbours through melody and music and what better platform than the reality show "Sur Kshetra" that brings together singing talents from India and Pakistan, says Pakistani composer-actor-singer Atif Aslam.

Raj Thackeray-led MNS has issued a diktat to the Colors TV channel not to broadcast a show on September 8 when noted singer Asha Bhosle will sing with Pakistani vocalists and threatened to disrupt the shoots of the channel if it airs the programme.

Either 'pass or fail' seems to be the motto of 'Sur Kshetra', a musical reality show which will be aired on Colors and Sahara One channel simultaneously. The show will have two teams, one from India and the other from Pakistan, competing with each other.

In two separate incidents, alleged activists of Shiv Sena and a little-known outfit Swaraj Sena have attacked the offices of Colors channel in suburban Andheri and Vile Parle, objecting to its new musical reality show featuring Pakistani artists.

Asha Bhosle will once again make her presence felt on the small screen as one of the judges on Sahara One's "Sur-kshetra", a new reality show that will feature singers from India and Pakistan.
