New Delhi: An amount of Rs 2,839.91 crore was spent out of Rs 3,755.08 crore released by government under the special package for drought mitigation strategies in the parched Bundelkhand region since November 2009, Parliament was informed on Friday.

New Delhi: Nearly eight crore people have opened bank accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) and government is hopeful that ten crore people will be covered under the scheme by January 26 next year, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told Lok Sabha on Friday.
