Green norms to be made more stringent for industry: Javadekar

New Delhi: Expressing concern over rising industrial and vehicular pollution in the country, Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday said he wanted to make green norms more stringent for the industry and strengthen regulations for diesel vehicles. The minister, however, told the industry that the government would be "practical" in its approach and business leaders would be consulted before framing any rules in this regard.

New Delhi: The Central government has sought daily report from the Jammu and Kashmir government on the relief and rehabilitation work being carried out in the flood-hit state, a Home Ministry statement said. Besides, the National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC) under the chairmanship of Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth met here and reviewed the relief work in the flood-affected areas in the state.
