Patna: Bihar government will increase the number of seats in intermediate colleges and schools, Education Minister P K Shahi said in the legislative assembly on Wednesday.

Replying to a question by JD(U) MLA Daud Ali, he said it has been decided to increase the number of seats in the state-aided intermediate colleges and schools to ensure that all those passing matriculation examination get admission in intermediate colleges/schools.

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has been directed to increase number of seats in intermediate schools and colleges to accomodate all matriculation pass-outs, he said.

However, the number of seats to be increased in the institutions will be decided later by the Principal Secretary (Education) and the BSEB Chairman.
