The pilgrims comprising 626 men, 102 women and 14 children left in a cavalcade of 34 vehicles, including three motorcycles, from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 4.45 am on Saturday for Amarnath, the police said.

The convoy for the yatra has already crossed Ramban district on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway towards base camps of Baltal in the Kashmir valley.

With today's batch, as many as 1,902 pilgrims have left Jammu for their onward journey to the cave shrine of Amarnath.

Notably, the first batch of Amarnath Yatra was flagged off by Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Minister Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Friday.

The yatra to the cave shrine will end on August 10.
