New Delhi: Taking a serious note of a tip off from the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the security at Central Bureau of Investigation headquarters has been beefed up as the IB has alerted the agency of a possible terror attack.

After the Delhi blast, a senior CBI official said, the Intelligence Bureau has issued a fresh terror alert stating that terrorists may attack agency’s newly-built headquarters.

Delhi police and other security agencies on Friday have carried out a massive search operation at the CBI headquarters. The dog squad was also pressed into the exercise. However, no mysterious things were recovered during the search operation.

It is worth mentioning that the CBI is not probing into the Delhi terror attack. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been entrusted with the task of probing the Delhi blast case.

Four months back, the CBI headquarters was shifted from CGO complex to its new building. The parking of vehicles had been banned in front of the building. Even vehicles of media persons were also banned from the entry into the headquarters.

Security arrangement can be gauzed from the fact that even the CBI officials are required to show their identity cards to the CISF personnel at the entrance.

Despite having identity card, a CBI official was not allowed to make entry through the exit gate. Ultimately, he had to show his card at the entrance to reach his chamber.
