New Delhi: In order to prevent another shoe gate controversy, the security has been tightened at the Congress headquarters at 24 Akbar Road here.

The security for the daily press briefing has been beefed up in the wake of the failed bid by acting journo to hit Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi.

The workers of Congress Seva Dal along with private security guards have been stationed from the main gate to the press briefing hall.

On Wednesday, Seva Dal workers were stationed like commandoes during the press briefing of Congress spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan.

Seva Dal workers were on job even during Natarajan’s informal discussion with journalists. An intruder masquerading as a journalist tried to hit Dwevedi with a shoe during the press brief when the latter attacked the RSS for propping up yoga guru Baba Ramdev.

The security has been tightened at the party headquarter after the incident.  Visitors and party workers are being frisked properly before entering the party office.
