As part of the exercise, security personnel were seen increasing patrolling in border areas. In Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir bordering Pakistan, police have mounted an extra vigil.

All the incoming vehicles are being checked thoroughly and passengers frisked.

In Jammu and Kashmir, Kathua district Superintendent of Police, Neeva Jain, said a high alert has been issued across the district.

Meanwhile, Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said adequate security arrangements are being made in the national capital.

Security has also been tightened across Punjab, especially in border districts in the wake of Gurdaspur terror attack last month, besides Haryana and Chandigarh.
