Over 5,000 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, deployed for the IGIA's security, have been asked to be vigilant and to keep a close watch for any suspicious activity.

"Delhi Police, which is responsible for the outside security of the airport will be more vigilant following the attack on the Pakistani airport," a police official said.

At least 23 persons, including 10 terrorists, were killed when heavily armed militants attacked the Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan's commercial hub Karachi even as fresh firing was heard early Monday morning.

"All 10 terrorists have been killed, the airport secured and they were unable to damage any aircraft or installations," a spokesman of the military's Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The terrorists were cornered and killed after they attacked the old airport terminal building late last night, posing as Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel.

Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the last night attack on Jinnah International Airport, the media reported on Monday.
