Over 100 Ulema, Mashaikh and scholars of the Sunni Ulema Board have urged people in Pakistan to maintain peace in the country, the Dawn reported.

Mobile phone services in Karachi will remain suspended between 7 am to 10 pm while in other parts of Sindh province, mobile phones will remain off from 7 am to 9 pm.

The Sindh government has also imposed a ban on pillion riding and carrying of weapons for five days in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpur Khas and Larkana areas to ensure security on the occasion.

In Punjab, more than 12 cities have been declared sensitive where mobile phone services are likely to remain shut on Tuesday, the daily's report said.

Mobile phone services will also be suspended in most parts of the militancy-hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

A ban on pillion riding has been imposed in the capital Islamabad for three days.

Strict security measures have been taken in the troubled Balochistan province, where mobile phone services will remain suspended on Tuesday, the report added.
