Raipur: Suspected Naxalites on Friday attacked the residence of Chhattisgarh's Woman and Child Welfare Minister in Kondagao district and killed a security guard posted there, police said.
    
Additional Director General of Police Ramnivas said that the residence of the Minister Lata Usendi was attacked by three motor cycle borne Naxals this evening.
    
The security guard Narsinh Markam who was posted outside the residence was killed when the Naxals opened fire.
    
The Naxals took away the arms being carried by the guard and ran away, he said.
    
While the minister was not present when the incident happened, her family members were present but they were not injured, he said.
    
The guard was rushed to the local hospital but died while being treated.  Top police officials have rushed to the spot and further investigations were on.
