Bhopal: In a bid to restrict the criminal activities occurring in the residential colonies in Madhya Pradesh despite the presence of private security guards, the state Home Department has decided to give professional training to the security guards.

Addressing the 64th Convocation Ceremony of the newly-appointed policemen here on Wednesday, the state Home Minister Uma Shanker Gupta said that the government has decided to train the security guards coming from private security companies in collaboration with the private sector.

“This will strengthen the security mechanism in the residential colonies and will also help in maximizing employment opportunities,” said Gupta.

The training programme will yield able and trained security personnel for the private security companies.

On the occasion, the Home Minister also announced upgradation of the Police Training School situated in Indore to a high-level training college.

419 newly-appointed policemen, including 175 women, were administered oath during the convocation ceremony.

Acclaiming the importance of computers, technology and management in the internet age, Gupta said that the curriculum must be revised with time and situation.
