Bhopal: In order to give a separate identity to the private security guards, the Central Government has devised new policy under which all the security men will now be dressed in identical uniform across the country. The colour of their dress will be totally different from those of police and army personnel to avoid any confusion over identity.
The government has now decided to keep any eye on training of these jawans and will also monitor the terms and conditions of their duties.
Keeping in mind over 70 lakh security guards stationed at various sites across the, the government has decided to constitute a separate police security division for them.
After a high-level meeting in Delhi, Union Home Ministry along with senior police officials took many important decisions in this regard. As per the decisions, all the security agencies will have similar uniforms for their guards. However, they will have freedom to choose their badges.
The government has decided to open an independent Private Security Wing in all the states. It will be set up under the Police Headquarter. The Central Government will allocate funds for this.
Under the Central Private Security Agencies act, all the states have been granted power to keep a vigil on security agencies providing guards on contract basis and also to make laws, if required.
