New Delhi: Raising concerns over poor security arrangements in government schools, the school authorities have written to the Director of Education informing him about the worsening condition of security guards deployed by private security agencies in the schools.

The school authorities have informed the Education Directorate that the security guards are not performing their duties well. Moreover, they are often found misbehaving with the students and teachers besides they also use inappropriate language in the school premises.

In the letter, the authorities have also highlighted that the security guards don’t come to schools in their uniforms. Also, the security agencies change the guards without informing the school authorities.

Taking congnisance of the complaint of the school authorities, Directorate of Education has issued notices to three security agencies and sought their reply in this regard.

The notices have been sent to three prominent security agencies which are responsible for providing security in government schools. They are: Sarvesh Security Services Pvt. Ltd, RD Enterprises and Advance Services Private Limited.

The government’s decision to privatise the security of government schools has put the Centre in an awkward position.

It is noteworthy, the security mechanism in the public schools of Delhi have witnessed a sharp decline in the past one year.

In the past one year, the Education Directorate has issued notices to over a dozen of private security agencies in this regard.

The principal of Rajkiya Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Mangolpuri , said, “ The security being provided by private security agencies is not satisfactory. We have informed the matter to the Education Directorate and are hoping for a quick solution.”
