New Delhi: In the wake of reported terrorist danger looming over Punjab following the arrest of two Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) militants on Thursday, the Delhi police has written to its Punjab counterparts asking them to beef up the security of political leaders in the state.

However, the Delhi police denied disclosing the names, but highly placed sources said that the target list features the names of top politicians in Punjab.

Sarabpreet Singh alias Prince and Jaswinder Singh were held by special team of Delhi police on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the transaction of assault rifles and rocket launchers.

Jaswinder was arrested from Ropar in Punjab where he was allegedly recruiting youths to revive insurgency in the state while Sarabpreet was arrested from Delhi.

During the interrogation, the duo revealed that BKI chief Wadhwa Singh had asked him to assassinate political leaders in Punjab during the upcoming Assembly elections.

Sources said, among the top names in the target list include Baba Ram Rahim of Ambala (Haryana), Baba Pyara Singh of Banihara (Punjab) and Baba Ashutosh of Ludhiana (Punjab) apart from other political leaders of Punjab.
