Patna: A senior deputy collector was on Saturday arrested for allegedly raping his daughter, said the Patna Police. The accused was arrested on the basis of complaint filed by his wife.

In her FIR, the victim's mother said that she found her husband in a compromising position with her daughter while she was going to wake up her son for going to school on Friday morning.

Soon after the incident, she informed the police about the heinous crime. Commenting on the issue, Patna SSP Manu Maharaj said that the accused was arrested on the basis of allegations made by victim’s mother, primary medical report and other evidences.

The arrested deputy collector was produced in the court of chief judicial magistrate Ramakant Yadav at his residence in the evening. Later, he was sent to Beur jail in on 14 days' judicial custody.

However, the accused denied the allegations, claiming his wife and daughter are mentally unsound.
