Mumbai: After witnessing a subdued session as weak cues from global peers’ dampened sentiments the 30-scrip Bombay Stock Exchange’s sensitive index (Sensex) started off on a lacklusture note as it opened at 18,525.32 points on Thursday, down 54.69 points or 0.29 percent from its previous close at 18,584.96 points.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading weak at 5,546.25 points, down 0.34 percent.

Broader markets too were ruling flat with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.04 percent up and the BSE smallcap index up 0.09 percent.
