Mumbai: The BSE benchmark index Sensex on Saturday gained 34 points in early trade of the special trading session on fresh buying by funds.

The 30-share barometer, which had gained 53 points on Friday, gained 34.60, or 0.20 percent to 17,671.48 in first 10 minutes of trading.

Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty moved up by 4.55 points, or 0.08 percent, to 5,363.90 at the same time.

Both the stock exchanges BSE and NSE are holding a 90-minute special trading session today from 11:15 am to 12:45 pm, as the BSE is testing its Disaster Recover Site (DR).
