New Delhi: Services and consulting firm Serco on Thursday said it has appointed Tom Riall as the Chief Executive Officer of its newly formed Global Services business with immediate effect.

In his role, Riall will be responsible for the running the entire business and ensuring the long-term success and profitability of the Global Services Division, Serco said in a statement.

With over 25 years of experience, he has held senior leadership positions in Onyx UK Ltd and Reliance Group, before joining Serco as Managing Director of the Home Affairs business. He subsequently became Chief Executive of Serco's largest division in the UK.

Susir Kumar will serve as Executive Chairman of Serco's Global Services Division, it added.

"I look forward to working closely with Tom in my role as Chairman, particularly in the areas of strategy, mergers and acquisitions, new market entry and brand building," he said.

Serco's new Global Services business has been formed by combining India's Intelenet Global Services, The Listening Company (UJ), Excelior (Australia) and other middle and back office contracts within the Serco Group.

Last year, Serco had acquired Indian BPO Company Intelenet for up to 385 million pounds (around Rs 2,772 crore).

The division is targeting revenues in excess of USD 1 billion by the end of this year. It has already received the Anglia Support Partnership contract in the UK as well as contracts from private sector organisations, including Shop Direct, Esure, Ideal Shopping and Freemans Gratton Holdings, the statement said.

Serco's Global Services business has over 50,000 employees across 99 locations and a presence in 10 countries.
