New Delhi: Socio-Economic Research Institute (SERI), located in the Mohan Nagar locality of Dwarka Sector 14, begins a new journey with a three-month computer training course for 20 girl students from weaker sections of the society like Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes.

The event to launch the new programme was attended by SERI’s Chief Manager Bhubhkant Rai, GM of Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd, Pukhraj Sabarwal, AK Gupta, R Banerjee, C Chakravarty, R Ghosh, Bhupesh Pant and faculties of HCL. SERI was founded in 2004 and since then endevoured on its activities in various fields like education and health care.

The institute is known for its remarkable achievements in these fields. Speaking on the occasion, Pukhraj Sabarwal, GM of Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd said that his company would make all sincere efforts to promote education and create job opportunities for women. Students present on the occasion mesmerized the guests with their enchanting cultural performances. Later the dignitaries also visited various parts of the institute where women were being imparted   computer training, tailoring and beautician courses.
