Indore: Seven pilgrims including five children were killed and 25 others injured when their tractor-trolley overturned at Simrole ghat on Khandwa road near Omkareshwar district of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Tuesday.

The pilgrims were returning to Indore late on Wednesday night after taking a holy dip during a ritual held every Monday in the month of Shravan at the shrine of Lord Shiva in Omkareshwar, police said.

While seven of them died in the mishap, the injured were rushed to MY hospital, police said.

 Apart from carrying the devotees, the trolley was also loaded with gravel and while moving on a steep road, the vehicle turned turtle and the victims got trapped under its weight, police said adding that the victims belonged to Hatode city.
