New Delhi: Unlike Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, his Cabinet colleagues have a liking for shares and debentures of companies. The declaration made by the Union Cabinet confirms their inclination towards the share market.

As per the details uploaded on the PMO website (http://pmindia.nic.in/), the Cabinet heavyweights like Union Minister of Railways Dinesh Trivedi, Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath are far ahead in business investment.

About two dozen Ministers and their wives have pumped in Rs 38 crore in shares and debentures of companies.

The price of share and debentures has been declared at their face value. It means the Ministers have provided value of the shares at the time they were bought.

Dinesh Trivedi is on the top in the list with the investment worth Rs 1.90 crore registered in his name and his wife’s followed by Sharad Pawar with Rs 1.50 crore in his and wife’s name. 
 
Kamal Nath has invested over Rs 1 crore in share market. Home Minister P Chidambaram and Communication Minister Kapil Sibal have also made significant investment in the shares and debentures.

Chidambaram and his wife have invested Rs 76.45 lakh, while Sibal has made investment to the tune of Rs 40.25 lakh.
