Chandigarh: All sections of society in the country have benefited from the welfare policies of UPA government, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday said while claiming that many schemes launched by the state have got "national recognition".

"Every section of the society in the country is prosperous as a result of welfare policies of UPA government," Hooda said while claiming that the state is at the forefront in terms of development in the country.

"Many welfare schemes launched in Haryana have received national recognition. I will continue to serve the state's people with more zeal, dedication and honesty," he said.

No state can compete with Haryana in development, Hooda claimed while addressing a meeting of the party workers here. The meeting was organised to felicitate the party cadres, who had reached in large numbers at Congress rally held at Ramlila ground, Delhi on November 4.

The Chief Minister said there is no other state in the country like Haryana which is ahead in all spheres like agriculture productivity, milk production, manufacture of cars and motorcycles and industrial production, health services, per capita investment, per capita income, education and sports.

"The state players had won gold medals at several international level championships," Hooda said. Referring to the opposition parties' "propaganda", Hooda said, "It is the habit of the opposition, it always tries to mislead people."

Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Phool Chand Mullana, Ambala MLA and former Union minister Venod Sharma, Sirsa MP Ashok Tanwar, were among others who spoke on the occasion.
