Ranchi: Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shahrukh Khan wants his team to play the IPL fixtures in the newly constructed cricket stadium in Ranchi.

In order to promote cricket in small regions, KKR owner Shahrukh Khan gave a proposal for hosting IPL matches in Ranchi. Shahrukh has already discussed this matter on February 04 with the President of Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) Amitabh Chaudhary but the final decision has not been taken yet.

“Cricket is a religion in India. People are mad about this gentleman’s game. We should promote cricket in small regions of India. We should host international matches in small states so that the natives would not remain bereft of witnessing international players.” Shahrukh said.

“Due to the matches being hosted in big stadiums in our country, the craze among the fans is losing ground. From the past few years Jharkhand is not able to host any international match” he added.

“Jharkhand had once hosted the India-West Indies ODI and the crowd response was really good” he said.
