New Delhi: Extending strong opposition to the Central government’s move to bail-out the beleaguered Kingfisher Airlines, JD-U chief Sharad Yadav on Friday accused the government of giving undue favour to Vijay Mallaya and termed the decision worthless.

“Why the government wants to give undue relief to Kingfisher Airlines whose track record has always remained poor?” Yadav said.

Expressing concerns over Rs 3,100 crore SBI loan to the airline, Yadav said, “If the airline failed to do well despite monetary aid from the State Bank, what will happen to the shares of the bank. It is not justified as this is the money of common man and it should not be misused.”

The JD-U leader said that the mismanagement and ineffective policies of the owner of Kingfisher has resulted into this crisis.

He also held the Centre partially responsible for the worsening condition of Air India.
