Thiruvananthapuram: Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor has turned a host for an online quiz show to promote tourism in his home state Kerala. The online video quiz show to be run by Kerala Tourism Department will kick off on May 10.
This will be the first occasion when any tourism department across the nation will host a quiz show to promote tourism. Tharoor will ask one question every day for 60 days.
Tharoor, who founded the Quiz Club at St Stephens College in Delhi in 1974, will ask questions on bountiful nature, geography and culture of God’s Own Country.
The participants need to merely register themselves on the Kerala Tourism website (www.keralatourism.org), the virtual platform for the quiz show. After registration, participants can submit their responses online within 24 hours on the website. The registration will be open during the entire course of the quiz show. The show will end on July 8.
The Kerala Tourism department is also offering a bonanza of gifts for the winners. As many as 6,200 gifts will be up for grabs in the show. The gifts will be presented on a daily, weekly and monthly basis during the show.
According to a release of the tourism department, the show has received a good response as thousands of people have already registered to participate in the show. However, a majority of the registered participants are from outside Kerala.
