Bhopal:The high-profile RTI activist Shehla Masood murder case probe is now focused around the state tourism corporation.

Zahida who was arrested by CBI on Tuesday had close ties with the local MLA who had allegedly been helping her to bag big tourism contracts. Being an RTI activist Shehla was “involved” in exposing Zahida’s alleged irregularities in getting contracts, sources say. 

The CBI may interrogate the BJP MLA in connection with the case.

The investigative body on Thursday arrested two more accused, a petrol pump employee whose owner is Zahida’s husband including a youth who allegedly provided motorcycle to the shooters.

CBI sleuths on Thursday continued questioning Zahida and Shakib alias Danger, besides the probe agency also carried out searches at Zahida's residence in Maharana Pratap Nagar here as it looked for elusive concrete evidences to corroborate her statements given during questioning.

Officials confiscated pen drives, CD, laptop and some documents from the residence of Zahida.

 The CBI is dispatching a team of officials to Kanpur on Friday to seek transit remand of Irfan, arrested by the UP Special Task Force on Tuesday in a separate case, who is alleged to be the contract killer of Masood.

The 32-year-old activist was shot dead in broad daylight in front of her house on August 16, 2011 and the CBI had taken over the case three weeks after the murder.
