New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday met Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde for a review of the law and order situation in the capital.
    
Dikshit drove to Shinde's residence immediately after presiding over an emergency Delhi Cabinet meeting which expressed serious concerns about the prevailing situation.
    
The Cabinet discussed the situation prevailing in the city following violent protests at India Gate against the gangrape of a young girl in a moving bus last Sunday.
    
Sources said the Cabinet felt that concrete measures must be taken to instill confidence among woman in the city.

Delhi Cabinet’s emergency meet

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit convened an emergency meeting of her Cabinet this
evening to discuss the prevailing situation arising out of large-scale protests against the gangrape of a young girl here.
    
The Chief Minister has reached the national capital after attending the Congress Legislature Party meeting in Shimla for election of Congress' Chief Ministerial candidate in Himachal Pradesh.
    
Dikshit has also sought an appointment with Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde to brief him about Delhi government's views on the security situation, sources said.
