New Delhi: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday unveiled a new initiative of prepaid card ‘Saral Money’ issued under Aadhar card in Delhi. Saral Money card will help Aadhar card holders open their bank accounts instantly. An Aadhar card holder can obtain ‘Saral Money card’ by rendering a small amount.

‘Saral Money’ initiative has been launched by UIDAI in association with five banks- Axis, HDFC, ICICI, IOB, State Bank of India and payment service company Visa.

Explaining the initiative, Dikshit told through prepaid card initiative banking will become easier for common people. It will bring significant changes in nation’s financial condition.

Through ‘Saral Money’ initiative, government and other organizations would be able to send cash amount to Aadhar card holders. Beneficiaries can easily withdraw the money from any ATM or micro-ATM through biometric identification.

Nandan Nilekani, Chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India graced this occasion with General Secretary RS Sharma. Initially, the ambitious scheme will be launched in Delhi NCR region.
