New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s political woes seem to be unending. Previously, for her alleged role in the CWG irregularities cited by the Shunglu report and now for defending her former Cabinet colleague Rajkumar Chauhan who is charged for malpractices.

According to sources, the Congress leadership has also objected to the way the Delhi government has rejected the Shunglu Committee’s report. The committee has questioned the projects of the PWD department, which is headed by Rajkumar Chauhan and also the CBI has lodged an FIR against Chauhan for alleged role in the Barapulla construction scam.

The high command has no objection to defying the Shunglu Commiittee’s report, but the outright rejection of the Dikshit Government to the report of the committee which was formed by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh himself has irked many senior leaders of the party.

The Delhi government is yet to submit its report about Rajkumar Chauhan threatening the Tax Commissioner.

According to the sources, Dikshit has been advised to take a very strong political stand. However, the Delhi Chief Minister on the issue of the MCD restructuring presented her points forcefully saying that the MCD splitting would be politically advantageous for the Congress.
