Mohali: Actress Monica Bedi, who remained in the thick of controversy for an alleged link up with a mafia don, yet again had to face trouble as Shiv Sena activists disrupted the shooting of her Punjabi movie ‘Shirphire’.

A group of saffron brigade members led by Shiv Sena President in Punjab Sanjeev Ghanauli and state Chief Rajeev Tandon strongly opposed Bedi’s presence and created hindrance in the shooting. According to Ghanauli and Tandon, the actress has links with terrorist organisations as she had been in a relationship with the underworld don Abu Salem for a long time.

“Her presence in the state can be dangerous,” they claimed.

However, the police reached at the spot and brought the situation under control.

While talking to the reporters Mohali SSP Gurpreet Singh said “Situation is under control. We have beefed up the security at the shooting venue. As of now we have not come across any complaints”.

Bedi was shooting in Punjab for her upcoming Punjabi film ‘Shirphire’ directed by Harjeet Ricky.
