Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked the Centre to raise the minimum support price (MSP) for wheat to Rs 1,600 per quintal.

"The minimum support price for wheat need to be hiked to Rs 1,600 per qunital in view of increase in the prices of diesel, fertilisers and pesticides besides labour cost," Chouhan said addressing a skill development convention at Itarsi on Sunday.

Chouhan laid a foundation stone for 124 projects worth Rs 42 crore at the event. The chief minister also handed over cheques worth over a total of Rs 79.42 crore to 43,600 beneficiaries under various schemes.
