The Chief Minister asserted he was dispatching a letter to the Madhya Pradesh High Court that the case should be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation. Earlier, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh and the three whistle-blowers - Ashish Chaturvedi, Anand Rai and Prashant Pandey - while demanding for a SC-monitored CBI probe said they have no faith in the Special Task Force that is monitoring the SIT probe into the scam. The petition of the Congress leader and the three whistle-blowers were mentioned by senior counsel Vivek Tankha and Indira Jaising.

Meanwhile, Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti said she was the first person to have suggested a CBI probe into the scandal. "I was named in the FIR as per an accused's version. This is unfair. I am shocked that my name has been dragged into this. I was the first to suggest a CBI probe," she said.
