According to the English daily Indian Express, many top businessmen, bureaucrats, and politicians such as Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, and Suresh Prabhu have complained that their phones have been put on surveillance by a private firm.

The phone tapping incident purportedly reveals the unholy nexus between the business-houses and the power corridor.

Sursh Uppal, an advocate in Supreme Court, is the whistleblower of the shocking exposure. He had filed a complaint mentioning the phone tapping of high rank officials to PMO on June 1, 2016. Uppal claimed that he received the lead about this practice from an employee of Essar Group which is the suspected party behind tapping of phones.
