"There is no such (price rise) problem in Sikkim like other states. There is no problem in availability of vegetables and other food supplies," Chamling told reporters after meeting Union Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan.

The state has already implemented the Food Security Act, under which poor people are given a legal right over highly subsidized foodgrains supplied through PDS, he added.

On monsoon, the Chief Minister said that the hilly state has received better rains so far and there are no reports of landslides in the state.

With prices of some agri-items like onion and potato been on rise for last few weeks in most parts of the country, the Centre has plunged into action and taken series of measures to contain food inflation.

The state governments have also been asked to impose stock holding limits on essential commodities and take action against hoarders. The Centre has also curbed export of onion and potato.
