London: Singer Elton John is planning to produce a biopic about his life, titled 'Rocketman'.

The British singer and his partner David Furnish, who own production company Rocket Pictures, have teamed up playwright Lee Hall to create 'Rocketman', which will tell the story of Elton's life through his music, reports said.

Furnish will produce along with Steve Hamilton Shaw, while Elton will be the executive producer.

"'Rocketman' will be a radically different kind of biopic. It will be as unique as Elton's life, told in a non-linear and hyper-visual manner that will transport people through the many intense experiences, some wonderful, some not, that helped define Elton as an artist, musician and man."
The project is yet to find a director and actor to portray John, whose hits include 'Your Song', 'Rocketman', 'Candle in the Wind' and 'Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word'.

British actor James McAvoy has already expressed his wish to play the singer onscreen while the singer had previously revealed that he wanted Robert Downey Jr to be one of three actors to play him in a movie.
