Sitapur (UP): A picture in the local media showing a police officer uncovering the face of an unclaimed body with his shoes has sparked off a controversy with the district police on Wednesday ordering an inquiry into the matter.
"The circle officer shown in the picture has been removed from the area. I have ordered a probe into the incident by Additional SP, Balendu Bhushan", Superintendent of Police
Deepak Kumar said.
The incident came to light when local newspapers on Wednesday published the photograph of the police officer in which he was shown uncovering an unclaimed body with his shoes in the presence of villagers.
The body was found in Basantapur village in Reusa area on July 16.
