Dehradun: Fresh from victory in Sitarganj assembly byelection by a record margin, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna on Thursday said the result has rejected opposition BJP's "negative" politics and put a seal of approval on the work done by his 100-day-old government.

Bahuguna told mediapersons here that "my win has put a seal of approval on the work being done by my government. The way people had expressed their faith in me, my responsibilities towards them have increased manifold".

He said the people of Sitarganj gave preference to development to the "negative" politics done by opposition BJP during the campaigning for July 8 byelection.

Regarding Sitarganj, the Chief Minister said though there had been a lot of industrial development in the area, it is lagging behind in agriculture. He said the area has to face floods every year and appropriate remedies would be taken to solve the problems.
