Bhopal: Six former Congress MLAs were readmitted to the party fold Wednesday, a senior party functionary said.

The former legislators who rejoined the party are Shivprasad Singh (Anuppur), Bapulal Malviya (Sehore), Udayprakash Mishra and Ramkhilavan (Rewa), Hamid Qazi (Burhanpur) and Shankarpratap Singh alias Munna Raja (Chhattarpur), chairman of the Congress media department Manak Agrawal said.

Besides the former MLAs, five other party leaders and Independent MLA Manvendra Singh also joined Congress, he said.

The other leaders readmitted in the party are Laxman Chouhan (Bawani), Baichain Ram (Betul), Shrikrishna Kumar Gupta (Sehore), Rama Kakodia (Betul) and Rajaram Tripathi
(Satna).

The proposal to readmit the leaders in Congress was forwarded to party president Sonia Gandhi by the state Congress president Kantilal Bhuria, he added.
