"This training programme started under the Skill Development Programme of Maulana Azad National Academy for Skill (MANAS) is being undertaken in the traditional educational institutions of minorities for the first time.

"The programme is aimed at providing an opportunity of skill development training to the minority students at these institutions without any intervention in its educational activities near their home," an official statement said.

It will also benefit girls and women living nearby. Madrasa students may find it easier to gain employment after taking part in the training.

The government will ensure employment of 75 percent of the students trained under MANAS and provide low interest loans to those students who intend to start their own business, the statement added.
