New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday came out on streets of Delhi to join thousands of overjoyed fans and celebrated India's World Cup cricket triumph.

As soon as her car stopped at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg near the busy ITO crossing around 1am, she came down and waved the national flag, shook hands with the fans, displayed victory and thumbs-up signs and looked calm after the win.

An avid cricket fan, Sonia had last week visited Mohali to watch the semi-final clash between the arch rivals India-Pakistan and enjoyed the game sitting in the stands with the crowd.

When the entire nation was celebrating World Cup victory on roads, Sonia Gandhi could not resist the temptation of joining the superfluous celebrations and was seen with the Tricolor wrapped on her neck. She wished every one for the great achievement and hoped that Team India will give more such wonderful moments in the future.

When her convoy passed through the Dainik Jagran’s office located at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg a correspondent waved his hand to stop her for a phoptograph, which she gladly accepted.
