Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party (SP) releasing its fourth list of 29 candidates for the upcoming 2012 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls expressed faith in new faces. So far 300 candidates have been declared by the SP. Meanwhile, the party has cancelled names of its candidates for five assembly seats in Jaunpur district.

Confirming the fact, party spokesman, Rajendra Choudhary said, “Of 29 candidates announced on Monday, names of party nominees for five seats in Jaunpur district have been cancelled by state president Akhilesh Yadav.” The five seats are Jaunpur, Malhani, Mugra Badshahnagar, Madiyahoon and Machlishahar, he added.

The party list released on Monday included the names of candidates for 29 assembly seats falling in Agra, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Rae Bareli, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Sonebhadra, Ghazipur and Ballia districts.

In the state executive meeting of the party, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had warned, “Tickets of those candidates can be cancelled or changed who will not take the election seriously.”  He instructed the candidates to gear up for the upcoming Assembly election.

He expressed his annoyance over the unnecessary delay in the formation of booth committees. Yadav instructed the party members to form all the booth committees before May 30 of this year.

At the state executive meeting, the party also decided that they will hold their District Conference all over the state on June 2.
Yadav also confirmed that the two-day national convention of SP at Agra will start from May 7.
