Speedy trials for history sheeters in Bihar

Patna: In wake of the Municipal Corporation elections, the police and the courts have begun speedy trial of cases against history sheeters.
The State Election Commission has already apprised the District Magistrates about this move. In a letter to district magistrates, the Commission said the returning officers will be responsible for furnishing information of criminal cases filed against candidates and proposers in their affidavits which will be sent to the district magistrates.
DMs will send the list of offenders to the Superintendent of Police who will be asked to make speedy trial in pending cases. The state EC will make a district-wise list of these people and would remain in contact of DMs and SPs.
The list of cases will also be displayed on the commission’s website.
