"In its special sanitation drive after floods, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation removed 17,360 metric tons of garbage waste from 11th to 27th September in Srinagar city," an official spokesman said.

For cleaning of Srinagar City, the corporation put 5,000 men and 200 machines in to service which are operating round -the-clock, he said.

SMC also lifted 1,459 carcasses and disposed off them scientifically, the spokesman said.

The SMC used 44,000 liters of disinfectants in different flood-affected areas. Besides, 72 de-watering stations were made operational in Srinagar city, he said.
